1. The promoter

1.1The promoter is Belvagio Competition Ltd, 90 Paul St, London, United Kingdom (the Promoter, we, us).

2. Eligibility

2.1You must be 18 years or older and resident in the United Kingdom.

2.2Employees of the Promoter, their immediate families, and anyone professionally connected with a competition may not enter. Any tickets held by these people are removed before a winner is calculated, as set out in clause 6.1.8.

2.3Only one account per person is permitted.

2.4We may ask you to confirm your age, identity or address before a prize is released, and we may withhold a prize until you do.

2.5We may disqualify an entry, and withhold or reclaim a prize, where we reasonably believe an entrant has broken these terms, entered on behalf of someone else, used multiple accounts, or interfered with the entry process.

3. The competition

3.1Each competition is described on its own competition page, which sets out the prize, the ticket price, the total number of tickets, the maximum number of tickets per person, and the closing date. Those details form part of these terms.

3.2Details of a prize are correct to the best of our knowledge as at the date the competition opens.

3.3The total number of tickets is fixed when a competition opens and is never increased while it is live.

3.4Some competitions also include an instant draw. Where they do, clause 6.2 applies.

4. How to enter

4.1Tickets can be bought on the competition page. A ticket is issued once payment completes.

4.2A free entry route is available for every competition, with no purchase necessary. Free entries go into the same draw as paid entries, on identical terms, and carry the same instant draw chance set out in clause 6.2.

4.4You can also enter for free online through our free entry page, following the steps set out there.

4.5The limit is 2 free entries per competition per person across both routes. Each valid free entry counts as one ticket.

4.6Postal entries must be received before the closing date. Entries that are illegible, incomplete, sent in bulk, mechanically reproduced, or sent by a third party on your behalf are not valid and will not be entered. Postage is at your own cost and we are not responsible for entries lost, delayed or damaged in the post.

5. Your account

5.1You sign in with your email address and a password you choose. Please keep your password private. If you forget it, you can set a new one through a link sent to your email address, so anyone with access to that inbox could do the same. Please keep it secure.

5.2Your tickets, results, prizes and any Belvagio Coins are held against the email address you give at checkout. Please make sure it is correct and that you can receive email at it.

5.3You can ask us to close your account at any time by emailing support. If you still hold coins, use them or contact us before you close the account, because coins cannot be paid out and are lost once an account is closed.

6. Choosing a winner

Depending on the competition, a winner is chosen in one or more of the following ways.

6.1 The main draw

6.1.1The main prize is drawn from all valid tickets, paid and free alike. Clauses 6.1.4 to 6.1.8 set out exactly how the winning ticket is arrived at.

6.1.2A competition closes on its published closing date, or when the final ticket is issued if that happens first. We do not extend a closing date because of how many tickets have sold, and the draw goes ahead whether the competition is full or not.

6.1.3A draw does not require a live broadcast to be valid.

6.1.4Before a competition opens, we generate a random key for that competition and publish a fingerprint of it on the competition page. The key itself is not published until the competition has closed. This fixes the key before a single ticket is sold, and the published fingerprint allows anyone to confirm afterwards that the key was not changed.

6.1.5Once the competition has closed, we take the first Bitcoin block created after the moment it closed. A Bitcoin block is a public record produced roughly every ten minutes. Its identifier cannot be predicted or influenced by anyone, including us, and it can be looked up afterwards by anyone. We record the block height, its identifier and its timestamp with the result.

6.1.6For every ticket eligible under clause 6.1.8, we calculate a value from four inputs: our secret key for that competition, the competition number, the Bitcoin block identifier, and the ticket number. The calculation is HMAC-SHA256, a standard method available in any programming language. The tickets are then placed in order of that value.

6.1.7The ticket placed first wins the main prize. The tickets after it form the reserve order, which clause 8 applies to. Because the key is fixed before the first ticket is sold, and the Bitcoin block does not exist until after the competition closes, neither the winner nor the reserve order can be worked out or influenced in advance by us or by an entrant.

6.1.8Tickets held by people who may not enter under clause 2.2, and tickets issued for our own testing or promotion, are removed before the order is calculated, not afterwards. The full list of ticket numbers that took part is published with the result under clause 6.4.

6.2 Instant draws

6.2.1Every ticket in a competition with an instant draw is entered into that instant draw at the moment the ticket is issued, whether it was bought or obtained through the free entry route.

6.2.2Each ticket receives exactly one instant result and can win at most one instant prize. Most tickets do not win an instant prize.

6.2.3Not winning an instant prize has no effect on your entry into the main draw. Every ticket goes into the main draw either way.

6.2.4The chance of winning at each prize level, and the maximum number of times each level can be won, are published on the competition page before you enter.

6.2.5Once a prize level has been won its published maximum number of times, no further ticket can win that level, and a ticket drawn against it counts as no instant prize.

6.2.6Each instant result is calculated at the moment the ticket is issued, using the same method and the same secret key described in clause 6.1, applied to the competition number and the ticket number. The result is fixed at that point and does not change.

6.2.7In some competitions the top prize levels are attached to specific ticket numbers instead of a chance per ticket. Where that is the case, those ticket numbers are also calculated from the secret key before the competition opens, are published with the result, and the competition page says so. If such a ticket is never issued, that prize is not won.

6.2.8Instant prizes are awarded as Belvagio Coins, digital codes, free tickets or items, as stated on the competition page.

6.2.9Our own record of each instant draw is the record of what was awarded.

6.3 Revealing your result

6.3.1Your results appear on the confirmation page after you enter, and in your account. Revealing a result is an animation only. It shows you a result that already exists.

6.3.2Every instant result is decided at the moment the ticket is issued, which is before anything is shown on your screen. Nothing that happens during the reveal can change it.

6.3.3In particular, the outcome is not affected by where you tap or swipe, how quickly or slowly you do it, how far you get through the animation, the order in which you open several results, whether you reveal them one at a time or all at once, or which device, browser or connection you use. There is no timing, skill or judgement involved at any point.

6.3.4If you close the page, lose your connection, or the animation does not load or does not finish, your result is unaffected and any prize is still awarded. You do not have to reveal a result to receive the prize attached to it.

6.3.5Results you have not yet revealed remain in your account and stay valid. There is no time limit on revealing them.

6.3.6Where a reveal displays prize levels other than your own, that is decoration. It does not mean your ticket came close to winning them, and no result is ever a partial or near win. A ticket either wins one instant prize or none.

6.4 Checking a draw for yourself

6.4.1After a competition closes, we publish the secret key for that competition, the Bitcoin block used for the main draw, every ticket number that took part, the value calculated for each one, and the result attached to it. Ticket numbers are published without names or contact details.

6.4.2With that information, anyone can recalculate the competition in full: which tickets won an instant prize, and the order in which the main draw was ranked. The proof page for each competition performs this calculation in your web browser, and the same calculation can be carried out independently using any HMAC-SHA256 implementation.

6.4.3You can see your own ticket numbers in your account at any time, including before a competition closes, so that you can find your own tickets in the published result.

6.4.4Instant results are calculated at the moment each ticket is issued, which is necessarily before the Bitcoin block exists. Instant results therefore rest on the published key alone. The main draw rests on the key and the block together, and carries the stronger guarantee of the two. We do not present them as equivalent.

6.4.5Where a result was calculated as a win at a prize level that had already reached its published maximum, it is published as such and counts as no instant prize under clause 6.2.5. These are included in the published results rather than left out.

6.4.6Clauses 6.1.4 to 6.1.8 and this clause 6.4 apply to competitions that open after 24 August 2026. Competitions that opened before that date were drawn at random without a published key, and we say so on the competition in question rather than implying otherwise.

7. Prizes

7.1The prize for each competition is described on its competition page. Prizes are not negotiable and not transferable, and there is no cash alternative unless we state otherwise.

7.2If an item becomes unavailable, we may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.

7.3Physical prizes are delivered to a UK address only, and are dispatched within 14 working days of the winner being confirmed and the delivery address verified.

7.4Where a prize carries its own manufacturer or supplier warranty, that warranty is the only one that applies. We give no additional guarantee on any prize.

8. Winners and claiming a prize

8.1We contact the winner as soon as practicable after the draw, and within 24 hours, using the email address given on entry.

8.2You must claim a prize personally. A prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.

8.3A prize must be claimed within 7 days of us first making contact. Within that period we make at least three attempts to reach you: on the day of the draw, on the third day, and on the fifth day. Every attempt is recorded with its date and time.

8.4If a prize is not claimed within that period, or a winner does not provide the details needed to deliver it, the prize passes to the next ticket in the reserve order set out in clause 6.1.7. We do not draw again. The reserve order was fixed at the same moment as the winner and before anyone was contacted, so we cannot choose who a prize passes to.

8.5Each time a prize passes on, we publish the ticket number it passed from, the reason, the number of contact attempts made, and the date the claim period ended. A prize cannot pass on unless at least two contact attempts are recorded and the claim period has ended.

8.6Instant prizes paid in coins are added to your account automatically and do not need to be claimed. Digital codes are sent to the email address on your account, so please check your spam folder if one does not arrive.

9. Belvagio Coins

9.1Belvagio Coins are the balance held in your account. One coin is worth 1p towards tickets on Belvagio, so 100 coins buy £1 of tickets. Your balance is always shown together with its value in pounds.

9.2Coins are won as instant prizes and on Belvagio Daily. They cannot be bought.

9.3Coins are not money held on your behalf, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be transferred between accounts.

9.4Coins used on tickets count towards your monthly spending limit at their value in pounds, as set out in clause 11.

10. Belvagio Daily

10.1Belvagio Daily is a free daily card for account holders. It is separate from every competition. Opening a card does not enter you into any draw and does not change your chances in one. No purchase is needed to play, and buying tickets does not improve a card.

10.2Clause 2 applies to Belvagio Daily. Before your first card we may ask you to confirm that you are 18 or over and live in the UK.

10.3Each account can open one card every 24 hours, counted from the moment its last card was opened, and never more than one card in the same calendar day, UK time. Cards cannot be bought, earned or transferred, and a card that is not opened does not carry over.

10.4Every card wins coins. The prize levels and the chance of each are published on the Belvagio Daily page and form part of these terms. If we change them, the change is published on that page before the day it applies to.

10.5Before the first card of each day is opened, we fix a secret key for that day and publish its fingerprint on the Belvagio Daily page. The result of your card is calculated from that key and your account, using the HMAC-SHA256 method described in clause 6.1.6. The key is published the following day, so anyone can confirm it matches the fingerprint. As with clause 6.3, opening the seal is an animation only and cannot change the result.

10.6Coins from your card are added to your balance when you collect them. A card left uncollected at the end of the day is added for you the next time you open your account.

10.7The total number of coins given out on Belvagio Daily is capped each calendar month. Once the cap is reached, cards opened for the rest of that month win no coins, and the card says so before you open it. Cards win coins again from the 1st of the following month.

10.8We may limit the number of cards opened from the same internet connection on one day. Clause 2.5 applies: we may withhold or remove coins where we reasonably believe someone has used more than one account or automated means.

10.9We may suspend or end Belvagio Daily at any time. Coins already in your account remain there under clause 9.

10.10After opening a card you may choose, once, to put that day's coins on double or nothing. The chance is exactly 50%. If it wins, the coins from that card are doubled. If it does not, that day's card pays nothing. The result is calculated from the same daily key. The choice is optional and final once made. If you do not choose, clause 10.6 applies.

10.11You can invite friends to Belvagio Daily with your own link. A friend is someone who creates a new account through your link; existing accounts cannot be linked, an account can be linked to only one inviter, and you cannot invite yourself. A friend counts once they have opened a card on 3 separate days. Each time you open a card, 5 extra coins are added to your balance for every friend who opened their own card in the 24 hours before, for up to 3 friends (15 coins). The link works both ways, so you count as a friend for the person you invited. The friends bonus depends only on opening cards, never on purchases. It is not a card under clause 10.3, it is never part of double or nothing, and it counts towards the monthly cap in clause 10.7: once the cap is reached, no friends bonus is added. You do not need to invite anyone to play. Clause 10.8 applies, and we may remove a link and the coins it earned where we reasonably believe accounts were created to collect the bonus.

11. Spending limit and taking a break

11.1Every account has a spending limit of £150 per calendar month. It covers money spent on tickets and coins spent on tickets together, with coins counted at their value in pounds.

11.2You can lower your limit in your account at any time and it applies straight away. Raising it takes effect 24 hours after you request it.

11.3The limit applies to your account. If you would like to take a break, email support and we will close your account and stop sending you marketing.

12. Payments and refunds

12.1Payments are processed by our payment provider. Ticket prices are shown before purchase, include VAT where it applies, and are final.

12.2A ticket is issued and, in a competition with an instant draw, its result is generated as soon as payment completes. For that reason entries cannot be refunded after purchase.

12.3We may cancel or suspend a competition if circumstances outside our reasonable control make it necessary, or if we reasonably believe the entry process has been interfered with.

12.4If we cancel a competition, every ticket bought for it is refunded in full to the original payment method, and any coins won on those tickets are removed. This is the only exception to clause 12.2.

13. Limitation of liability

13.1We are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from entry into a competition, and our total liability is limited to the value of the prize in question.

13.2We are not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed or damaged in the post, or for email that is not delivered by your provider.

13.3Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Your statutory rights are not affected.

14. Data protection and publicity

14.1We handle your personal data as set out in our privacy policy. You can ask for a copy of your data, or for your account to be deleted, at any time.

14.2So that entrants can see a valid award took place, we publish the surname and county of major prize winners, and announce winners on our social media channels.

14.3If you would rather we published less, tell us when you claim and we will publish only what is needed to show the award was valid.

15. General

15.1We may update these terms. Any change applies to tickets issued after the change is published.

15.2If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

15.3These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
